The countdown to the start of the season is flying by! Just a few short days until we start racing in anger.

It's great to see a lot of new names appearing on the league table. You are all very welcome and I hope you enjoy the competition! Don't forget to spread the word - the more the merrier.

If you have friends, family, work colleagues who may be interested in playing - why not create a personal league and invite them all along! Maybe even have a little wager between yourselves to keep things interesting - I know I do!

Remember - to be in with a chance of scoring points in the season opener in Australia you must enter and select your drivers ahead of the scheduled start time of qualifying. Everything will be locked down once qualification is underway.

We are approaching the final days before the start of the 2025 F1 season - 24 races to determine this years Driver Champion.

There’s still plenty of time to get your entries in ahead of next weeks season opener - the Melbourne GP.

Who’s your lead driver? Will it be Max vs Lando? Will any other drivers step up to challenge? Or will the whole pack shuffle in an unpredictable and exciting season? The last one for me please!

We now know what the cars will look like, but who knows how the cars will perform on track?

There’s unlimited driver changes here right up until the start of qualifying, so there’s no harm in getting your entry in early. Then there’s less chance that you’ll forget.

Now is the time to be creating those private league too - give your friends and family plenty of time to join up ahead of the opening race.

Fantasy Racers may not be the biggest FantasyF1 site around, but it’s been around for over 20 years. Some of the players from the very early days are still playing so I must be doing something right, eh?

There is an increased budget for 2025, giving you even more choice of driver selections for the upcoming season.

I have also changed the approach to driver valuations. All new drivers will be added to the competition at a price of 8.00, and driver prices will be carried forward each season. So the starting price for all drivers that competed last year will be their value after Abu Dhabi 2024. Yes, this does mean that some drivers may appear to be too cheap (great, right?!) and some drivers too expensive - but that's the nature of the game. Pick the drivers that offer the best value for their current valuation.

If you're wondering how this will work out, I've gone back and "FantasyRacer'd" all races since 1983 (I know!) and you can see the results in the 'Driver Stats > Career Scores' section. It's also interesting to see who has scored the most Fantasy Points in the last 40 years. (if you're a bit of a stats geek like me).

Anyway - the competition is open for those early birds wanting to start drafting their teams. I'll post more in the new year once I'm ready to launch properly.
